Not only can you get them at any time, there are different types of warts to deal with. Luckily, if you’ve got them, you can get rid of them and they may even go away on their own.

Warts are not just growths, they are caused by the human papillomavirus which affects the cells of your epidermis. The virus causes your cells to reproduce faster than they should, resulting in a wart. So a wart is simply too many skin cells trying to compete for the same space. You'll often notice warts have dark dots and these are actually your blood vessels.

All warts are caused by this virus, but they are actually a few different types of warts you might get. The common wart is what is usually seen on hands, elbows and knees. Plantar warts are the ones you get on the bottom of your feet. They appear to be flatter and smoother due to the pressure applied by walking. Because the skin in your face is thinner, warts that grow there are usually flatter and, thus, called flat warts.

So, how do you get rid of warts? You can use corrosive chemicals, freezing and even the duct tape! The thing you need to do is try one method and if that doesn't work well on to the next until you’ve finally found something that gets rid of those warts.
